We study the problem of approximating planar rotations (about the origin)
\alpha: R2 --> R2,
\alpha(0, 0) = (0, 0)
by one-to-one, onto mappings
\beta: Z2 --> Z2
of the integer lattice Z2 = {(x, y) in R2 | x, y in Z}. \beta is said to approximate \alpha with error
