The Cech-Stone Compactification of R

In this talk I shall survey the developments on the Cech-Stone compactification, or rather the remainder, of the real line since the publication of [1]. These include

• Existence of non-trivial sub cut points.
• The number of subcontinua.
• Continuous images.
• A possible characterization.
