Countably compact groups satisfying the open mapping theorem
by
Dikran Dikranjan
Universita di Udine

We discuss the structure of the countably compact groups G that satisfy the following forms of the open mapping theorem:

  1. Every continuous surjective homomorphism G --> H is open,
  2. Every continuous isomorphism G --> H is open,
(in both cases H is a Hausdorff topological group). Preservation of these properties under Cartesian products will be the second topic of the talk.
