For a given mapping f between continua we consider the induced mappings between corresponding hyperspaces of closed subsets, 2f, or subcontinua, C(f). Recent results concerning interrelations between the three conditions: f in M, 2f in M, and C(f) in M for various classes M of mappings are collected, and some questions related to the topic are asked.
Contents: 1. Introduction. 2. Inducible mappings. 3. Homeomorphisms. Hereditarily weakly confluent induced mappings. 4. Light mappings. 5. Monotone mappings and near-homeomorphisms. 6. Confluent mappings. 7. Limit properties.
