Bubbles and double bubbles
by
Joel Hass

Coauthors: Roger Schlafly (Real Software)

The shapes of bubbles reflect the solution of isoperimetric problems. These problems ask for the most efficient way to enclose a collection of volumes. While it is classical that the sphere is the most efficient shape enclosing one volume, there are many open problems concerning the most efficient way to enclose more than one volume. This talk will discuss recent progress in this area.
