Shifts on compactifications of integers

In ''Shift operators on Banach spaces'', J. Func. Anal. 101, 1991, it was proven that if X is a compact Hausdorff space with an isolated point p and if there is a homeomorphism \psi from X - {p} onto X such that the set {p, \psi^-1(p), \psi^-2(p), ... } is dense in X, then there is an isometric shift operator on C(X).

We describe a construction of such a homeomorphism \psi for some metric compactifications of integers.
