Topological Semi-orders

Lines with partial points are of great immportance in the computational treatment of the reals. The interval domain is the most notable, but by no means the only, example. We outline a topological theory of such partial linear structures, via a generalized notion of continuum ("continua with tolerance"). Connections with other areas of study, specifically interval graphs and utility theory (preference orderings), will also be considered.
