A countable nondiscrete topological field without nontrivial convergent sequences

In 1984 A. Arhangelskii and D. Shakhmatov asked whether there exists a countable topological field without nontrivial convergent sequences. We present a construction such a field which uses some techniques previously applied to analyze convergence in topological groups.
