A Unique Form for Special Lattice Rules
by

We discuss lattice rules and the problem of expressing them in a unique form. For so-called projection-regular and prime-power lattice rules unique representations are already available. The recently developed unique form for prime-power rules is known as the ultratriangular form. Associated with these ultratriangular forms are sets of column indices. It is known that any lattice rule can be decomposed into its Sylow p-components, which are prime-power rules and thus could be expressed uniquely. We shall use this idea of decomposition of lattice rules into prime-power rules and appropriate reassembly to obtain a unique form for a special case in which the component ultratriangular forms have sets of consistent column indices.
