On Decompositions of CS Modules

We prove that every Sigma-CS-module is a direct sum of uniform modules. This answers a question raised by Dung, Huynh, Smith, and Wisbauer in their 1994 monograph Ëxtending modules". I will also indicate how some other existing questions related to decompositions of CS-modules can be answered with the help of this result.
