On Linear Filters and Torsion Theories in \sigma[M]

It is well known that there are bijections between the set of all linear filters on a ring R and the set of all the classes of R-modules which are closed under taking submodules, direct sums and quotient modules; that is, hereditary pretorsion classes, and between Gabriel's filters on the ring and R-tors, the set of all hereditary torsion theories in R. In this talk we generalize these concepts and bijections to the categories s[M].
