Cardinal sequences of locally compact scattered spaces
by

The cardinal sequence of a scattered space is the sequence of sizes of its Cantor-Bendixon levels. Let L denote the class of cardinal sequences of (locally) compact scattered spaces, or equivalently: superatomic boolean algebras.

  1. A ZFC characterization of sequences of length \omega1 in L is given.
  2. For sequences of length between \omega1 and \omega2 this is no longer possible, but almost everything is known.
  3. For sequences of length \omega2 (or greater) very little is known.
