Solenoidal Attractors

I will discuss the dynamics and topological structure of a class of low-dimensional attractors. This class can be viewed as a generalization of the standard solenoid, where the map z --> z2 is replaced by more general circle maps. Results on the global and local topological structure of the attractor, symbolic coding of orbits, topological entropy and intermingled-basin properties will be reported.
