Weyl Transforms, Pseudo-Differential Operators and Localization Operators

This is a non-technical talk that describes, for a general audience in analysis, the various facets of Weyl transforms, pseudo-differential operators and localization operators in, respectively, quantization, elliptic partial differential equations and signal analysis. The connections between the three classes of operators are then explained and used in the study of the spectra of these operators.
