LCA hypergroups

I will provide an introduction to LCA hypergroups with an indication of the basic theory. I will indicate how the point of view of hypergroups clarifies the study of various generalizations of LCA groups. Finally, I will discuss an application to Markov chains on the hypercube. The latter refers to some joint work with my colleague, Daming Xu.
