Some comments on separately continuous functions
by

Lebesgue proved that every function f : R×R --> R which is continuous in each variable separately is a pointwise limit of continuous functions. We discuss some problems related to the determination of the descriptive properties (such as Borel and Baire measurability) of separately continuous functions f : X×Y --> R on the product of two Tychonoff spaces X and Y.
