Diffusion-driven Instability in Reaction Diffusion Systems

Let A be an n ×n real matrix. Sufficient and necessary conditions for A-D to be stable for all diagonal matrix D with nonnegative entries are studied. The implications of these conditions for stability and instability of a constant steady state in reaction diffusion systems are also discussed.
