A Local Inversion Principle of the Nash-Moser Type

We prove a inverse function theorem of the Nash-Moser type. We overcome the loss of derivatives by using finite dimensional subspaces of infinitely differentiable functions. Estimates on the approximate solutions are obtained by arguments of steepest descent type.
