Representations of Cuntz-Krieger Algebras and Endomorphisms of Sums of Type I Factors

A correspondence between endomorphisms of finite sums of Type I factors and representations of Cuntz-Krieger algebras is introduced. Use is made of a Hilbert space of partial isometries generalizing Robert's Hilbert space of isometries for Cuntz algebras. Basic properties of this correspondence are investigated after developing some operations on bipartite graphs.
