Poster: Sensitivity of ozone to boundary conditions
by
Giannis Kioutsioukis
Joint Research Centre Ispra

The uncertainty of boundary conditions in air pollution models limits the forecast skills of the predicting system. Adifor is coupled with a 3D air quality model in order to perform a sensitivity study of ground level concentrations (O3, NO2, CO, ...) with respect to the boundary concentrations of 20 species. The study was carried out for two large European cities (Milano and Athens), using the Eulerian photochemical grid model CAMx. Three different cases were considered for each city: (a) O3 episode, (b) NO2 episode and (c) Average (annual) concentrations.
