Automorphism groups of trees acting locally with affine permutations

We consider the structure of groups that act on a pn-regular tree in a vertex transitive way with the local action isomorphic to the group of affine transformations on a finite affine line. Among the applications, we give a construction of strongly irreducible lattices acting on the product of two trees. We will also show how to construct non Arithmetic lattices.
