Flows on Hilbert Cubes
by
Bill Goldbloom Bloch
Wheaton College

Given a continous path p from [0, 1] to the Hilbert cube Q, we construct a flow on Q that contains p([0, 1]) as a subset of the invariant set of an attractor. The interest in this lies in using Q as a space to model complicated dynamical phenomena that partake of a weak kind of recurrence. Examples we have in mind are naturally-occurring, ill-defined systems, such as a waterfall or a flame flickering on a log.
