Derivation of the Reynolds Type Equation with Memory Effects
by

We consider the lubrication process of slipper bearings.
Starting from the nonstationary Stokes equations in thin 3-dimensional domain
and using the asymptotic expansion we obtain
the Reynolds type lubrication equation with memory effects governing the 2-dimensional macroscopic flow. The law is nonlocal in time and gives a linear connection between
velocity and pressure gradient.
We present a convergence theorem for velocity and pressure in appropriate functional spaces,
as the characteristic size of bearings tends to zero.
