In 1967 a construction called the sum of a semilattice ordered system of algebras was defined. This construction further was also named the Plonka sum of algebras. In 1972 H. Lakser, R. Padmanabhan and C.R. Platt described all subdirectly irreducible Plonka sums of algebras. In 1991 A. Wojtunik considered some generalization of the Plonka sum which she named the generalized sum of an (F1, F2)-upper semilattice ordered system of algebras (here briefly: the generalized sum of algebras). In the lecture we describe all subdirectly irreducible generalized sums of algebras.
