An application of lattice theory in ordinal data analysis
by
Silke Pollandt
TU Darmstadt

What are concept lattices of ordinal structures? This question arises from ordinal data analysis. Properties of and relations between four categories - the categories of ordinal structures, ordinal contexts, formal contexts and closure structures - motivate an answer using suitable covariant functors.
The aim of the talk is to demonstrate one method to find concept lattices of ordinal structures. Some lattice-theoretical theorems (eg a characterization of the tensor product of doubly founded completely distributive complete lattices) are needed to show that the introduced functor has the demanded properties.
