A Note on Factorizable Compacts
by

Koc University, Istanbul, Turkey
Let us call a compact Hausdorff space K "Factorizable" if it is homeomorphic to the product ExF of two infinite compact Hausdorff spaces E and F. The problem about which this short talk is centred is this: Which compacts K are factorizable ? Using results from Functional Analysis we show that an extremally compact Hausdorff space is never factorizable.
