M.C. McCord (1966) showed that every compact polyhedron P has a finite model, i.e. a finite poset X and a weak homotopy equivalence P --> X.

Each finite poset X has a barycentric subdivision X' and a weak homotopy equivalence X' --> X.

We describe a finite model X of the 3-sphere and an order=preserving function
DX'×X' --> X
where DX' has partial order opposite to X whose axes DX' --> X and X' --> X are weak homotopy equivalences.
