CH and the Moore-Mrowka problem
by
Todd Eisworth
University of Toronto, Mississauga

The question of whether compact Hausdorff spaces of countable tightness must be sequential cannot be answered in ZFC - counterexamples exist under \diamondsuit, while the Proper Forcing Axiom implies an affirmative answer. It is still unknown whether CH suffices to produce a counterexample; we will discuss consistency results obtained in the last year in our investigation of this question.
