Four parameter generalization of Goellnitz (big) partition theorem. Outline of the Proof.

Perhaps one of the deepest results in the theory of partitions is the Goellnitz (big) partition theorem (1967). Question whether or not this theorem could be generalized remained open for the last 3 decades. Therefore, it was an exciting event when, recently, Alladi, Andrews and myself found and prooved a four parameter generalization of Goellnitz theorem.

In my talk I, first, introduce a new key identity and, then, give its straightforward partition theoretical interpretation. In the rest of my lecture I outline the proof of this remarkable new result.
