On Some Applications of Discrete Methods in Statistical Physics

New discrete methods to study two problems of statistical mechanics (the Ising problem and the dimer problem) will be presented. I plan to illustrate the richness of the subject by posting several open graph theoretical problems, directly relevant for physics applications.
