On asymptotic dimension of discrete groups

G. Yu proved that the Novikov Higher Signature Conjecture holds for the manifolds with the asymptotically finite dimensional fundamental groups. We show that all Coxeter groups are asymptotically finite dimensional (joint result with T. Januskiewicz). Also we show that the amalgamated products and the HNN extensions of asymptotically finite dimensional groups are asymptotically finite dimensional (joint with G. Bell).
