The size-biased form is a special case of a weighted distribution that arises in several real life situations quite often. In this paper we discuss the size- biased binomial, Poisson and negative binomial distributions with their applications to populations studies. These investigations may be of particular interest to those who are involved with field surveys and looking for suitable models to describe their observed distributions.
