Using a model developed recently we have projected the total number of HIV seropositive persons for the city of Calcutta to the turn of the new millennium (year 2000). Using a resampling technique we have estimated the standard errors and confidence bounds of our projections. The projection is heavily dependent on the rates of several social and behavioral parameters. We have investigated the impacts of variation in values of these parameters on our projected estimates.
