p-adic uniformization and p-adic L-functions of modular forms

We give an overview of joined work with A. Iovita and with M. Bertolini, H.Darmon and A. Iovita concerning the derivative at the central critical point of certain p-adic L-functions of modular forms which are constructed using p-adic uniformization of Shimura curves.
