The topology of elementary submodels
by
Franklin D. Tall

The interplay between what a model of set theory "knows" versus what is "true" has been a frequent theme in set theory ever since the introduction of countable models. Bringing such considerations into general topology has led to a growing body of interesting results and an intriguing problem concerning the space of irrational numbers. We will survey the area.
