Cantor sets, thickness, and porosities
by

Porosity and (Denjoy's) porosity index are indicators of `smallness' in sets in the real line. Thickness shows a type of `largeness' for a Cantor set. In this talk, we give conditions for thickness and the porosities to be related. We then take these results and apply them to a question involving sums of Cantor sets.
