Let X be a preordered set, P a family of prime initial sets in X equipped with the hull-kernel topology. We show that if each basic open set Nx={P in P:x not in P} is also hull-kernel closed, then each member of P is in a minimal prime initial belonging to the initial set I= \cap {P:P in P}. The converse is considered.
