Challenges in the statistical analysis of high density microarrays
by
Y. Pittelkow
Centre for Bioinformation Science, SMS, JCSMR, Australian National University

There are two main trends in microarray technology today; cDNA bi-color arrays and high-density oligonucleotide arrays. Although many of the statistical issues which need to be addressed when analysing data from these two technologies are similar, others differ in significant ways.

It is the purpose of this talk to provide a brief description of the high density microarrays manufactured by Affymetrix and to highlight some of the statistical challenges to be faced in analysing the data.
