Teaching of Statistics in Indonesia
by
Darfiana Nur
University of Newcastle/ITB, Indonesia

In this talk I present Statistics curriculum at two main universities in Indonesia : Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) and Gadjahmada University (UGM). These two universities offer Statistics degree for undergraduate and postgraduate level (Master by coursework and PhD). The undergraduate level is completed within 4-5 years, master is for 2 years and PhD for 4-5 years on average.

In my own experience here in Australia as a student (1990-1991 at UWA) and as a tutor (1991-1993, UWA and 1995-1999 at Curtin University of Technology), I point out the comparison of learning and teaching Statistics in these two countries.
