This paper deals with the problem of estimation for scale parameter in the presence of a point guess values of parameter. It attempts to justify the use of Bayes estimator as an alternative to Shrinkage estimator. Bayes estimator for scale parameter of normal distributionhas been obtained considering prior distribution which utilizes the knowledge of a point guess of the parameter. The proposed Bayes estimator is compared with the corresponding maximum likihood estimator and ordinary Shrinkage estimator under squared error loss using a simulation result.
