A GIS based Technique for Identification of Potential Agroforestry Areas

In this article, a GIS based technique named Spatial Objective Analytic Hierarchy Process(OAHP)has been proposed. The proposed Spatial OAHP is a technique that combines Geographic Information System(GIS) and OAHP to identify and rank areas that are suitable for agroforestry, using the statistical techniques involved in the OAHP and data contained in GIS maps. An agroforestry suitability index map of the study area depicting high, moderate and low potential agroforestry areas has been obtained using this technique.
