Recent contributions to ideal theory made by Professor Melvin Henriksen

This talk will cover, primarily, the contribution to ideal theory made in the M. Henriksen paper [HKMS], "Joincompact spaces, continuous lattices, and C*-algebras", Algebra Univers. 38(1997), 289-323 (co-authored with R. Kopperman, J. Mack and D. W. B. Somerset). The speaker will also describe more recent results by other authors who have obtained representations of Banach algebras using the techniques developed in the [HKMS] paper.
