On the volume of a tetrahedron

A formula for volumes of hyperbolic and elliptic tetrahedra is obtained from the quantum 6j-symbol concerning to the quantum group Uq(sl2). The quantum 6j-symbol is used for constructing the Turaev-Viro invariant of 3-manifolds, and such formula was expected by the volume conjecture.

Some applecation of the formula is also explained.
