The combinatorics of tau-covers

: \tau-covers are covers which are intermediate between \omega-covers and \gamma-covers. These covers induce a linear quasiorder on the space and are related to the well-known minimal tower problem. We will give a survey of these relations and also of the properties of selection principles involving \tau-covers, and introduce some new results. As this notion is relatively new it introduces plenty of interesting problems; we will introduce some of them.
