I will present an overview of the construction of a compact non-metrizable space with a hereditarily normal square from from the assumption that there is a Luzin set. The construction employs methods of Todorcevic (both minimal walks and his construction of a compact S space from b = \omega1) and Gruenhage's techniques for building a counterexample to Katetov's problem from CH.
