Is P(\omega) a subalgebra?

M. Bell asked the following question: Assume B is a Boolean algebra, and I is a countably generated ideal on B such that P(\omega) embeds into the quotient B/I. Does it follow that P(\omega) embeds into B? CH implies the negative answer. I am going to discuss some partial positive answers.
