Rotation sets of flows on one-dimensional solenoids
by

Rotation sets have been defined and studied for maps and flows on various spaces, including the circle, an annulus, and a torus.

In our talk, we define the concept of a rotation set for flows on one-dimensional solenoids. We show that the rotation set of any fixed-point free flow contains exactly one point. We also prove that the rotation set of a flow with fixed points is either a point or an interval, and give a criterion for distinguishing between these two cases.
