Demographic study of some aspects of urban out migration from villages in Uttaranchl

Newly created 10th mountain state and 27th Indian state of country Uttaranchal represent a high rate of migration that is 25%. The Uttaranchal state is larger than other eight hill state of the country in term of population , In state 58% of people are unemployed .At present population of youth in the villages has become negligible. Migration means mobility of individuals or group with the hope of improving their earning or lifestyle, is a normal phenomenen in Uttaranchal. The two prominent causes of the Migration of the villages are employment opportunities in other sectors/area of economic and second the regional disparity in the economic development due to the mobilization of resources from the underdeveloped regions to the developed regions. The economy of the region has been refered as the post office/money order economy.. The out migration of man power is closely related to regional backwardness. The out migration of rural areas to urban areas has been explained some aspects ,which include economic,demographic, socio-cultural and psychological,political and institutional and miscellaneous factors.Here we may briefly deals with demographic aspects of migration from the villages. The money order economy play a significant role from out migration in Uttaranchal state . STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM : The new Uttaranchal state has been come in existence on Nov.2000. The movement of people from one place to another is caused by a number of factors . As a consequence of under developed economy in the rural areas a large number of people leave their villages and to urban Industrial centers in search of job. In State Infrastructure facilitities are very limited. Due to geographical and climatic limitations the expansion and mechanization of the cultivated land is not possible. These are the important factor which promote the migration. 92% migrants were literate and 87% of them were formally educated . Most of migration were in these prime of working age. Thus the hill region is losing his creative energetic able work due to this phenomenon. Development policies are also highly effected with this phenomenon IMPORTANCE OF THE STUDY : Due to out migration on one hand rural areas have to face the scarcity of creative, energetic and able youths and on the other in urban areas the excess of workforce has generated the problem of unemployment and the exploitation of labour. The discrimination of the out migration between hills and the plains of uttaranchal.. Government has made several policies for the deveploment of the region but no scheme can succeed in the absence of creative and energetic work force,, In this study we will highlight various aspects. To Identify the return –migration and evaluation the role of return-migration in rural development. The evaluation of the development policies which have been to regulate the out- migration. Rural-industrialisation also play a leading role in reducing rural-urban migration DATA AND RESEARCH METHOLOGY : The purpose of the study is to identify the best set of economic variables which are responsible for rural-urban out migration . The study is based on population census 1991 and Statistical abstract of 13 districts of Uttaranchal . The objective of the study two techniques of research that is library work and field work.
