by

A well-documented population model with three life stages is coupled to produce a competition model. The competition model predicts a wide range of interesting dynamics, including species coexistence in the presence of heavy competition and multiple aperiodic coexistence attractors. Some of these dynamics involve parameters very similar to those seen in labaratory cultures of flour beetles.
