Velcro bifurcation occurs when social groups compete

A model that describes competition of n-1 social groups considering their partial interest and the general interest of the population (in case there were no groups) is introduced. The n-dimensional system of ordinary differential equations has a center manifold of n-3 dimensions and in particular cases i.e. equilibria lose their stability via a velcro bifurcation. This result is a generalization of the model published in A. Bocsó - M. Farkas: Political and economic rationality leads to velcro bifurcation, Appl. Math. and Comp. Vol. 140 (2003) 381-389.
